The whole journey
Where will I sleep tonight? Will I make the ferry? What is worth a stop? Vanperience is being built to answer these questions in one plan, with as little input as possible.
What we are working on: these areas are being developed and tested. Data coverage and functionality may vary by country, vehicle and provider.
Automatic overnight planning with campsites and camper stopovers along the way. Rest time and the following morning’s departure should be included in arrival estimates. If a site is full, an alternative should fit straight into the plan.
Ferry connections with arrival at the port, departure, crossing time and prices where available. Waiting times and overnight stays should fit together, keeping the next day’s ferry connected to the rest of your journey.
Sights, restaurants and useful shopping stops along your route or at your destination. Ordered with your journey, detour and preferred break time in mind. See the details first, then add a stop.
Search by connector, charging power and network. Live charge-point availability supports planning where it is available, alongside charging time and estimated battery level on arrival. Missing live data must remain clearly identifiable.
Find fuel stations nearby, along your route and at your destination. Current fuel prices are being added progressively. A combustion vehicle needs fuel information, not confusing EV charging controls.
Charging or fuel, camping, ferries, tolls and vignettes in one view. Vehicle height, width and weight should inform suitable routes and parking options. Unknown prices or restrictions are not a guarantee.
How travelling should feel
Your start and destination are the starting point. No multi-day questionnaire for a short trip: Vanperience should only ask when your decision is genuinely needed.
The screenshots show real development versions, not a finished product release. Automatic trip planning and Apple CarPlay are still being tested.

Energy after arrival
Heating, cooling, cooking: you need energy while parked, too. Vanperience is being developed to estimate energy use during your stay, and what remains for the next leg.
Your appliances and length of stay determine the planned energy demand. Your onward driving reserve must not disappear from the calculation.
A leisure battery and portable power station have their own energy budgets. V2L, if your vehicle supports it, draws from the driving battery and must reduce the remaining driving reserve accordingly.
Solar generation, electric hook-up and destination charging are intended to feed into the energy balance. Will you have enough for the night and your onward trip, or is another charging stop needed first?
An estimate, not a guarantee: weather, appliances and the connections actually available all make a difference.
Planned Community & travel journal
A journey leaves more than miles behind. We want to make it easy to capture memories and help fellow campers with first-hand experiences.
Add photos of camper stopovers, campsites, charging stations and sights straight from your camera or photo library. A poor connection should not mean losing your contribution.
Rate stopovers with a thumbs up or down, share practical tips and flag outdated information. You should be able to change or withdraw your own contributions.
Bring your route, stops and photos together as a trip. Add an optional AI-written summary, keep it private or share it with the people you choose.
Choose who can see your content. Reporting, blocking, moderation and deleting your own contributions are part of the design from the outset.
These community features are on the roadmap and are not publicly available yet. A reliable trip-planning and navigation foundation comes first.
For your camper
Vanperience is being built for different manufacturers and conversions. The Kia PV5 is one of our development and test vehicles, not the limit of the app.
Vehicle profiles, charging stops and arrival battery estimates form the foundation. Adapting to measured consumption and campsite energy needs is being developed further. Vehicle connectivity depends on the model and provider.
The same trip planning, with fuel stations and relevant fuel prices instead of charging filters. Driving-range calculation for combustion vehicles is not planned.
The iPhone app and Apple CarPlay are in development and testing. A small TestFlight beta is being prepared. German and English are planned for the app; Android and Android Auto are later stages. Offline travel data, trip costs and community features will expand step by step.

We are an independent, self-funded project for camper travel across Europe. We are looking for partners providing reliable mapping, charging, fuel, camping, parking and ferry data.
Clear usage rights, transparent costs and data that genuinely helps travellers are at the heart of the project.
